My third favorite album because of the 90's sound. Well, not just because of the sound change, but the fact that U2 took their time with this one to get it right. One of the reasons why I love U2 is every album has a different sound. This album is a breakup album, yes, but that's the beauty of it, and why so many fans like it. I like it because it's some of the best work they did to start out the 90's era. I love how they started in Berlin, and took what they did there to their studio at home back in Dublin. Again they had "batman and robin" (that's what U2 refers them as) Danny and Brian to produce the album.
The start of the process of making this album wasn't easy for them, because the last show they did back in the early 90's was Bono saying, "we're going to go away and rethink things" that was actually true. When they got to Berlin they didn't have anything to go on. For months they would be arguing, and fought with each other until one day when Edge started playing the riff for One. That's when the magic was there and started blossoming again.
My favorite songs are:
Zoo Station
The Fly
Until The End Of The World
Mysterious Ways
One
Love Is Blindness
Acrobat
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
