U2 - books & magazines

My books and magazines which they all pretty much say the same thing, so in a nutshell it's their history, and song history, too. U2 - Slane Castle (Go Home)

This show is special for them because it's a home show. I have to say I enjoyed this show, as well, but never went to this one either. The one song you may notice that isn't on the concert itself, is Mysterious Ways because of Bono's daughter Eve got on stage and she danced with her father. That's an extra on the dvd which is great. I love this show because the crowd is so into it, and it makes the watchers watching it just that great. This show does lack the heart shape as there is no back to the stadium, which is fine because all stadiums are different, and it still worked well.

U2 - PopMart

My absolute favorite concert as well, and this again has a show that hit home because of Sarajevo and what happened in the 90's. Almost all of their shows have something that happened around their shows. I'm starting to wonder if it's a U2 curse if you think about it. I particular like this show because of Edge singing Sunday Bloody Sunday, it was finally slowly brought back to this show. With the mellowness of Edge's singing in this shows the world is okay, and this song was ok to sing. I loved that during this tour, Moreligh danced during Mysterious Ways with baby Sian in her belly, and she dance to surprise Edge on his birthday. That was the Helsinki show can be found here. 

U2 - All That You Can't Leave Behind

My least favorite album by them. I'm sorry to say, but the only ones I like are the singles, and Kite. New York is catching up with me, but yeah I don't like this album. I must say though I do like this sound this album has. One day at the studio, Edge was working on Beautiful Day, he played the part on other guitars, and none of them really fit. He played it with the Explorer, and that worked for him, but as the others were coming in, they didn't like it because it wasn't where they were going. I just love how Edge used the Explorer for this song, and New York, too. That is the only thing I like aside the fact that Edge got married to Moreligh during this time as well. That's about it for this.

U2 - Elevation

It's another emotional show due to 911 being the previous year of this tour. I like this dvd, but not this era. I do like the concert, for the song called Kite, Bono dedicates it to his dad on this tour which is touching. I never went to see this live, but my sisters did, and they said they cried when the names were being shown during Where The Streets Have No Name. I got chills while watching it, but I never cried. This show has the drama scene during Until The End Of The World where on the heart shaped stage, Bono and Edge have sort of a battle, and Bono beats up Edge's Gibson guitar. That part was cool, though.

U2 - No Line On The Horizon

One of my least favorite albums. The only songs I like are the singles, plus non-singles such as: No Line On The Horizon, Fez-Being Born, and Moment Of Surrender. The rest of it is ok, but it's what's on the Revisited (fan made) has a song I like called Winter. I love that song because it reminds me of Coldplay (even though I don't like them as much). Like I said this isn't my favorite album to say the least, but I do like the compile of the songs for the title. That's about it, but the sound is great as usual just the songs itself are just weird to me.

U2 - 360

My second U2 concert, and my first blu-ray dvd. I enjoyed this live, too. It was so awesome to see that giant claw in a stadium. I really enjoyed this show, the set list was amazing, and I have to say with this show it really fit with what songs they did during this tour. They also incorporated to some shows which was really nice to see, like our show we had Miss Sarajevo. I think that song was only performed in our show, so that was very special. One song that stood out for me is Moment Of Surrender, which is the ending song. I gave me chills when they played it. Especially since it's very different than the album version. 

U2 - The Unforgettable Fire

I like this album, but there is a reason why it's down here. Well, this is a good album, it doesn't catch my attention as much as the singles do. Songs like Wire, A Sort Of Homecoming, and Indian Summer Sky are all powerful songs, also MLK, and the ones that stand out to me. Elvis And America is a song that fans don't really like on the album, and I for one are one of those fans. I don't know why Bono wrote that song in the first place, but it didn't fit, it's over 6 minutes. That song just didn't make sense, but it also explains why there's a huge gap between when this album was released, compared with Joshua Tree. That's when they started to learn and sit back and go "ok we need to slow it down and write a proper album."

U2 - Rattle And Hum (DVD)

Bono says this on the dvd (during the interview and the song itself) "this song shouldn't be played anymore because of the attacks in London." That does explain why it never got played until PopMart tour (later post). In some shows for ZooTV Sunday Bloody Sunday did get played, but even then they couldn't bring themselves to play it live fully. I love how they did this movie in black and white, and later in color. It is through the U.S. tour of The Joshua Tree, and once again this has some deleted scenes, too, which I don't have. I've actually looked up the deluxe version, and it's way, too expensive. I'd just stick with this. This is a great item for a collection, too.

U2 - Rattle And Hum (CD)

The first live/studio album they've done. I love this album, as well. Some of the songs were recorded live from the Joshua Tree tour around the U.S. The songs from studio were recorded in Memphis, TE and of course Dublin. It's interesting how any band does the extreme on making albums like this. Well, this isn't extreme, but I do love the way they did it. I like to think of it as a greatest hits live, with new songs. Funny but that's how I think of it as. The song that wasn't included on the CD, but shows up on the dvd (next post) is Sunday Bloody Sunday.
